Mentor Coach Specialization Coursework for Prior Learning Pathways

This course is for you if you:

  • Have your PCC Credential with the ICF

For the MCS, if you want to use the "Credit for Prior Learning" pathway, you need to have already secured your PCC with the ICF. The PCC credential is a requirement for your MCS.

  • Have Completed Or Will Complete PCC Markers Training

The ICF allows those with a PCC Credential complete the ICF's own "PCC Markers" training. That training is accessed from within the ICF's own portal. You'll need to complete it prior to submitting your MCS application. This training is not the same as a PCC Markers Training.

  • Want 10 Hours of Mentor Coach specific training

The ICF requires those with prior learning to take educational coursework specific to Mentor Coaching and Supervision. This course is Mentor Coaching specific and has been used by "Credit for Prior Learning" applicants to successfully secure their MCS.

Keep in Mind

The ICF additionally requires for the MCS application that you have Mentor Coached at least 5 people if you are taking the "Credit for Prior Learning" pathway.

Otherwise, if you are taking the Standard Path for the MCS application, you must take a 41+ hour training. This training will not fulfill that 41+ hour requirement.
